Chinese Narrative Hub works to advance a multiracial democracy and counter ethnonationalist narratives.
We create multilingual tools, build bilingual and bicultural leadership, and help people connect everyday concerns to the larger systems shaping our lives. Our work makes room for complexity—across language, generation, migration history, and political experience—while helping communities move from confusion and isolation toward shared agency.

Chinese Narrative Hub advances a multiracial democracy by cultivating and strengthening the relationships, language, analysis, and leadership Chinese communities need to resist misinformation, reject division, and act together for a more just future.
How we work #1
Create Stories and Tools That Meet People Where They Are
We develop multilingual content, narrative resources, and political education tools that help communities understand the issues affecting their lives. We also track and respond to misinformation across Chinese-language media and social platforms.
How we work #2
Grow Bilingual and Bicultural Leadership
Through the Bridge Fellowship and other learning spaces, we support emerging Chinese organizers, communicators, and community leaders. Participants build practical skills in organizing, narrative strategy, and relationship-building while growing a national network of peers.

Test New Ways to Build Civic Agency
We experiment with accessible ways to connect everyday issues—such as housing, wages, public safety, and public investment—to broader systems of power. Our work helps Chinese immigrant communities identify misinformation, deepen political understanding, and take meaningful action.
Leadership
Meet Joyce,
Joyce Lam (she/her) is the Director at the Chinese Narrative Hub and has almost 15 years of experience in organizing in the Chinese immigrant community, communications, movement building and campaigns.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Joyce identifies as a 1.5 generation Chinese American/diaspora movement builder based in Bay Area, California.
She is a frequent commentator on Chinese language media outlets and consulted by Chinese media on issues affecting the Chinese community. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Joyce has a degree in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley and is bilingual and biliterate in Chinese and English.
